Xarelto Side Effects
The blood thinner Xarelto is a popular alternative to Warfarin, a medication that has been around for decades. The main reason for this popularity is that patients on Xarelto don’t need to undergo nearly the amount of monitoring as patients on Warfarin. However, as you may know, there is no known antidote if someone taking Xarelto suffers a serious bleeding event. What you might not know is there are other, less common side effects of the drug.

Serious Stuff

These are just a few of the severe side effects that have also been associated with use of Xarelto.

  • Decreased production of blood platelets
  • Hepatitis

  • Coughing up either blood or blood clots
