Ready Pac Foods recalls bags of spinach because of E. coli
California-based Ready Pac Foods Inc. is recalling approximately 4,200 bags of spinach salad after E.coli was found by FDA investigators in a random sample of the product. The six-ounce bagged salads are sold under the product name Spinach Temptations.
The bags were sold in California, Washington, and Arizona and have a July 4 use-by date.
Ready Pac spinach was also one of several brands that were recalled in 2006 due to a nationwide E. coli outbreak. E coli is a form of bacteria that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, kidney failure, and even death.
