Giving Credit Where Credit is Due: Celebrating The National Comprehensive Cancer Network and All Its Good Work

January 24, 2014  |  Mesothelioma

We support the work of The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®), a not-for-profit alliance made up of 23 of the world’s leading cancer centers. While experts from NCCN Member Institutions diagnose and treat all cancers, they offer the best-in-class, comprehensive care for aggressive, complex, and/or uncommon cancers like mesothelioma. Recently, NCCN has done a remarkable job making their resources friendlier to consumers. It all started with the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®), decision tools for doctors that explain the disease and determine the best way to treat a patient, depending on their diagnosis, disease stage and other factors, such as age. NCCN Guidelines for Patients®, translations of the clinical guidelines, are also available for certain disease types. The library of NCCN Guidelines for Patients is meant to help patients with cancer and their loved ones talk with physicians about the best treatment options for their disease.

The NCCN Guidelines and NCCN Guidelines for Patients are written to help patients and their doctors make big decisions regarding cancer treatments. These big decisions are never easy. But with access to real, quick and timely data, these decisions could mean the difference between life and death.

At Baron & Budd we believe that hope comes when patients and their doctors are given all of the information they need to make the right decisions. NCCN’s dedication to the library of NCCN Guidelines for Patients is a powerful tool in the cancer-fighting toolbox for those fighting against malignant cancers. And, with critical information, it help brings cancer patients hope.

Baron & Budd is the sponsor of the NCCN Guidelines for Patients®: Mesothelioma, and, as such, NCCN asked us to help them distribute a survey to evaluate the NCCN Guidelines for Patients. We have gladly agreed to help.
Now, you can too by reading the NCCN Guidelines for Patients®: Mesothelioma and then following up with by completing the survey. It is important that every single person who is facing mesothelioma, whether it is the patient, their doctor, their friend or family member, understands everything they can about the cancer and the treatment and management options. By reading the NCCN Guidelines for Patients®: Mesothelioma and taking the subsequent survey, you can help us make sure that no stone goes unturned.

Let’s learn everything we can. That’s how we’ll beat this.
