Baron & Budd Attorney Burton LeBlanc Fights for Rights of Asbestos Victims in Louisiana Senate

May 29, 2012  |  Mesothelioma

Burton LeBlanc, environmental attorney and shareholder at Baron and Budd, testifies against a bill in the Louisiana State Senate that would limit the ability of people who have been harmed by asbestos exposure to receive compensation from bankruptcy trusts. The bill would dramatically slow the claims process and ultimately discourage people from seeking compensation from asbestos trusts. LeBlanc was the only attorney who spoke against the bill. Though the bill unanimously passed the Louisiana House, it was voted down in the Senate. This video was filmed in May 2012.
