LOS ANGELES- (January 28, 2014) – Thompson Reuters publication Super Lawyers has named Dan Alberstone and Roland Tellis of national law firm Baron & Budd to its list of 2014 Southern California Super Lawyers. The honor is given to no more than five percent of the top lawyers in the region.
Outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas are honored by the Super Lawyers list. These attorneys have attained not only a high level of peer recognition, but also a high level of professional achievement. In making its selections, the publication uses a thorough, patented process. This includes independent peer evaluation and nomination of candidates as well as a statewide survey of attorneys. The list, as a result, is diverse, credible and comprehensive.
Alberstone is the co-manager of the Los Angeles office of national law firm Baron & Budd. He has been involved in complex litigation matters for more than three decades and has extensive experience in jury trials. His case experience includes the prosecution of consumer class actions, real estate and partnership disputes, bank fraud, unfair business practices, as well as environmental and entertainment matters. He represented former ESPN and Good Morning America and current Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews when she was illicitly videoed in her hotel room by a stalker. This is the fourth consecutive year Alberstone has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer. He was also named to the list each year from 2005-2007.
Tellis is also a co-manager of Baron & Budd’s Los Angeles office. He has represented clients in several multi-million dollar disputes, and helped the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation successfully prosecute a Ponzi scheme involving $120 million in securities in 2005. Tellis has protected the rights of consumers, serving as lead class counsel in several multidistrict class action cases. His experience includes the prosecution of numerous consumer class actions involving automotive defects, bank fraud and food mislabeling. This is the sixth consecutive year Tellis has made the Southern California Super Lawyer list. The publication named him a “Rising Star” from 2004-2007. He was also named one of the Best Lawyers in America (2014) for his commercial litigation expertise.
“We could not be prouder that two of our own have once again been named to this significant and much-admired list,” said Russell Budd, managing director of national law firm Baron & Budd. “Having lawyers of this caliber on our staff exemplifies our commitment to providing our clients with the best possible legal representation.”
