DALLAS –(April 27, 2012) – Workers will be coming together around the world April 28 to commemorate the 23rd Annual Workers’ Memorial Day and to fight for their right to a safe work environment. Workers’ Memorial Day is an internationally recognized day of remembrance for workers who have passed from work-related diseases, such as mesothelioma cancer, or other work-related accidents. The holiday was originally created by the 1970 Occupational Health and Safety Act, which promises all workers the right to a safe workplace. April 28 is also the anniversary of the creation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
