Baron & Budd Attorney Laura Baughman Honored by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel

Baughman Named to Association’s Nation’s Top One Percent List

DALLAS (April 28, 2016) – Laura Baughman, managing shareholder in the Pharmaceutical Litigation Group of the national law firm of Baron & Budd, has been honored by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel (NADC). The NADC named Baughman to its 2016 Nation’s Top One Percent list for the second year in a row, making her part of an elite group of attorneys and one of the leaders in the legal profession.

The NADC list is extremely exclusive, limited to only the top one percent of lawyers in the country. A blue ribbon panel of attorneys from independent organizations thoroughly vets all prospective members, and then a judicial review board makes the final selection. The mission of the NADC is to recognize attorneys who not only elevate the standards of the Bar, but also provide other attorneys with a benchmark to emulate.

Baughman has represented seven states in cases against the drug maker GlaxoSmithKline regarding the marketing of the diabetes medication Avandia, and has also represented patients and public entities in cases involving harm caused by the kidney dialysis device GranuFlo.

In addition, she formulated litigation strategies in whistleblower cases as managing shareholder of Baron & Budd’s Qui Tam Litigation Group. Her team has handled several cases involving Medicaid and Medicare fraud as well as many others.

Baughman also has a long history of serving the Dallas community. For example, she has provided pro bono representation to clients through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and has also co-chaired several committees for the Attorneys Serving the Community program.
