Baron & Budd Attorney Carla Burke Pickrel Named to National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Trial Lawyers List

Burke Pickrel Cited for Her Work as One of the Pioneers of Baron & Budd’s Environmental Litigation Group

DALLAS (Aug. 31, 2016) – Carla Burke Pickrel, a shareholder in the Environmental Litigation Group of the national law firm Baron & Budd, has been named to the National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Trial Lawyers list. Membership in this exclusive list is only extended to a few of the most qualified attorneys in the country.

The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 list is limited to attorneys who have gone through a stringent peer review process. Members must demonstrate qualifications in several areas, including reputation, leadership, public profile and stature. These qualities are measured by uniform, objective standards.

Since joining Baron & Budd’s Environmental Litigation Group in 2004, Burke Pickrel has represented hundreds of public entities in a wide variety of cases. She helped to develop the legal strategy for cases involving contamination of drinking water from dangerous chemicals such as atrazine, PCE and MTBE. Burke Pickrel not only played a major role in representing more than 200 water providers in more than 20 states in a case involving MTBE contamination, she also helped achieve a substantial class action settlement for water providers whose supplies were contaminated with the agricultural chemical atrazine.

Burke Pickrel also represents several school districts in cases involving the contamination of school buildings with PCBs, chemical compounds that have been linked to several diseases. She has earned recognition from several professional organizations during her career, including being named a “Rising Star of Texas Law” by Super Lawyers. Burke Pickrel was also nominated for the Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 2009 and 2013.
