Law Firm Selected Once Again to Prestigious List of Top Law Firms in the Nation

DALLAS —(June 6, 2013) —Once again, the national law firm of Baron and Budd has been selected to the prestigious Legal 500, a list of the top law firms in the world. Baron and Budd was one of only two law firms in the U.S. selected as a top tier law firm in the area of mass torts and class action litigation on behalf of plaintiffs. The firm has repeatedly been selected by the Legal 500 as one of the top two toxic tort firms in the country since 2008.

Baron & Budd shareholder was recognized for achieving a $48 million verdict on behalf of a California mesothelioma patient. This verdict is the highest mesothelioma verdict reached in 2012. Shareholder Scott Summy, head of the firm’s water contamination section, was recognized for his role as lead counsel in litigation surrounding water contamination with the herbicide, atrazine. Last year, preliminary approval was granted in the case for a proposed $105 million settlement.
