READ MORERussell W. Budd, president and managing shareholder of Dallas’ Baron & Budd, P.C., and his family have joined two other local families to donate a prominent piece of land that provides the “missing link” between two of the city’s most popular hiking and biking trails. The connection of the Katy Trail and the Trinity Strand Trail is expected to be completed by 2010, and will provide 22 miles of uninterrupted jogging and biking paths for Dallas area residents. The land donation – valued at more than $2 million – was announced at a recent event hosted by Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert. Russell is an avid supporter of urban redevelopment, having generously supported the resurgance of West Dallas through Habitat for Humanity and the Dallas Faith Communities Coalition. Russell’s wife, Dorothy, is equally involved in the community and previously served as president of Dallas area Habitat for Humanity.
