DALLAS (June 30, 2010) -- Carla Burke, attorney and shareholder with Baron & Budd, P.C.’s water contamination group and an expert in toxic tort and water contamination litigation, delivered a presentation last Wednesday at a legal summit in New Orleans. She addressed the wider effects of the spill including the potential long-term effects of hydrocarbon contamination on soil, water and air.
Baron & Budd has held to account nearly all the world’s largest oil companies, including BP. The firm successfully litigated the first multi-jurisdictional MTBE groundwater case in the U.S. Working on behalf of over 150 plaintiff public water systems in 17 states, the firm won a historic, national settlement to compensation these water providers for the MTBE contamination they suffered, as well as to guarantee future clean-up costs over 30 years.
With more than three decades of experience, the firm has been chosen by the attorneys of many states, municipalities and water districts to represent them in water cases.
Burke spoke at “Harris Martin’s Oil Spill Litigation Conference,” featuring a who’s who of attorneys and other experts who provided an in-depth examination of Gulf Coast Oil Spill Litigation.
