Waresa Islam is an attorney in Baron & Budd’s document review team that works with the Class Action, Environmental, Qui Tam, and Opioid Litigation Groups. She joined the firm in 2025.

Ms. Islam received her Juris Doctor from New York Law School in Tribeca, New York, in 2024, where she was awarded the Dean’s Award for Student Leadership for the Class of 2024, the Dean’s Scholarship, and was named to the Dean’s List. During law school, Ms. Islam interned for Touro University’s Office of General Counsel and Compliance, where she worked on cases involving discrimination, harassment, and academic integrity violations. She also worked as a student attorney at New York Law School’s Patent Law Clinic, after which she was employed as a law clerk at a law firm where she gained extensive intellectual property law experience.

Ms. Islam graduated from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Islam was a pre-pharmacy student. Her science background positively contributes to her legal profession, particularly in cases involving healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

Ms. Islam was inspired to pursue a legal career during her undergraduate senior year while taking a health ethics course. Her passion for law also stems from her love of writing. Outside of work, Ms. Islam is currently working on publishing her first poetry book. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and on her hobbies, which include singing, painting, and photography.
