Morgan Latin joined Baron & Budd’s Trucking & Catastrophic Injury Group as an associate in 2024. Ms. Latin’s greatest joy as an attorney is achieving justice on behalf of clients who lack the tools to successfully advocate for themselves. She does exactly that with Baron & Budd as she represents clients who have experienced catastrophic injuries or the death of a loved one as a result of others’ negligence.

Ms. Latin has gained valuable experience litigating personal injury cases from inception through trial in various state and federal courts. Prior to joining Baron & Budd, Ms. Latin worked for a mass torts firm in Dallas, Texas where she helped clients hold corporations responsible for severe injuries and even death caused by defective products. She has also defended local government and government employees against motor vehicle and premise lawsuits. Ms. Latin incorporates her experiences representing plaintiffs and defendants into comprehensive and effective strategies in service of Baron & Budd’s clients.

Ms. Latin’s commitment to service precedes her legal career. Prior to practicing law, she served as a middle school English teacher in rural Mississippi and in her hometown of Houston, Texas. Ms. Latin’s childhood dream was to become a teacher or a lawyer. She credits her former students for encouraging her to lead by example and not just realize one dream but achieve them both.

Ms. Latin completed her undergraduate degree at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. While in law school, she was appointed co-chair of the Board of Advocates and competed in mock trial and moot court competitions. She also served on the Student Bar Association and was elected President of the Black Law Students Association. Off campus, Ms. Latin worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Vanessa Gilmore in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas and at several law firms.

In 2023, National Trial Lawyers named Ms. Latin to their list of “Top 40 Under 40” Plaintiff’s Civil Trial Lawyers in Texas. She is excited to bring her unique perspective and skillset to cases in which victims have been injured or killed in catastrophic vehicle crashes.

When not practicing law, Ms. Latin loves making memories with her family and friends. She also enjoys getting lost in a good book, immersing herself in arts and craft projects and singing songs to inspire the soul.
