John Meyer joined Baron & Budd’s Environmental Litigation Group as an associate in 2025. Prior to joining Baron & Budd, Mr. Meyer honed his skills in eDiscovery, developing a deep affinity for protecting the health and safety of others. In his work, Mr. Meyer analyzes, categorizes and coordinates complex discovery challenges for the ELG team on cases involving wildfire damage, groundwater contamination, and exposure to harmful chemicals.

In 2016, Mr. Meyer graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in forensic science. Science has always been of keen interest to Mr. Meyer. While at Loyola, he developed a fascination with the connection between science and the legal system. He pursued this passion by attending Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Prior to receiving his juris doctor in 2019, Mr. Meyer studied several intersections of law and science, such as intellectual property, personal injury, medical malpractice, healthcare, and compliance.

During his time in law school, Mr. Meyer worked as a senior editor for the Annals of Health Law & Life Sciences, where he was published in the student journal, Advance Directive, and served as an associate editor for the student-run blog, Inside Compliance. There, he contributed posts covering a wide range of regulations by EPA, CSB, FDA, FTC, and more. His work eventually earned him the opportunity to publish a note in the American Health Law Association’s Journal of Health and Life Sciences Law. These experiences fostered an appreciation for developing a compelling narrative with an eye for detail and a focus on research, skills he brings to his eDiscovery work for the ELG group.

When not at work, Mr. Meyer enjoys spending time with family and friends. He never passes up an opportunity to see a new show at the theater or try a new restaurant.
