Anna V. Cairns joined the Los Angeles offices of Baron & Budd in 2026. She is an associate in the firm’s Class Action Litigation Group.

Prior to joining Baron & Budd, Ms. Cairns honed her litigation skills representing individuals in personal injury actions ranging from life altering impairments and tragic wrongful death actions to rideshare driver sexual assault proceedings. Ms. Cairns also spent several years managing a caseload of hundreds of wildfire victims as they struggled with devastating losses from fires caused by utility company equipment, including the Camp Fire, Woolsey Fire, and Lahaina Fire. In her spare time, Ms. Cairns also did pro bono work, including assisting an underage migrant apply for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status so he could progress on his path toward obtaining a Permanent Resident Card. Throughout her career, Ms. Cairns has never wavered from her passion for advocating for the less privileged and less valued voices in society.

Ms. Cairns’s enthusiasm for the legal field began in high school when she first studied the United States Constitution in her Advanced Placement US History class. Her appetite for the law grew even stronger during her study of political science and economics at the University of San Diego. Ms. Cairns returned to the University of San Diego for law school, where she graduated cum laude in 2019.

While in law school, Ms. Cairns externed for the Honorable Anthony J. Battaglia at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, and for Justice Richard D. Huffman at the California Fourth District Court of Appeal. She also co-authored, with Professor Virginia Nelson, a self-published text supplement, Comparing Discovery Devices, which compared California state and federal discovery rules, in her role as assistant to the professor during her class on civil discovery. In 2018, Ms. Cairns received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for earning the highest grade in her Climate Change Law and Policy class, a prestigious scholastic honor administered by the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction, a non-profit consortium of law schools.

When not working on behalf of Baron & Budd clients or advocating for the underprivileged, Ms. Cairns can be found paddleboarding at the beach or hiking in the mountains with her husband and rescue dog. She also enjoys live music and international travel.
