Juan Ortega is an attorney with Baron & Budd’s document review team that works with the Class Action, Environmental, Qui Tam, and Opioid Litigation Groups. He joined the firm in 2024.
Mr. Ortega is a Florida native. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Accounting and Management Information Systems in 2018. After working in the accounting industry for some time, Mr. Ortega pivoted to the legal field to follow his passion for helping people without the means to help themselves. Mr. Ortega then attended the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor in 2023.
During his time in law school, Mr. Ortega was Lead Technical Editor for Volume 29 of the International Law Students’ Association (ILSA) Journal of International and Comparative Law and was an advocate in the Nova Southeastern University Trial Association. As an advocate, Mr. Ortega competed in an intramural competition where he earned his place as a finalist. He also participated in a civil legal clinic where he worked as a law clerk for a plaintiff personal injury firm in Hollywood, Florida. This experience fueled his passion to seek additional opportunities to help those suffering from hardship.
When Mr. Ortega is not working, he enjoys watching movies, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He is also a fan of the Miami Heat and Florida State Seminoles.
