National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is a not-for-profit alliance of 21 of the world’s leading cancer treatment centers dedicated to providing top-quality cancer care to patients. The centerpiece of NCCN is the NCCN Clinical Guidelines, which help guide physicians in developing treatment schedules tailored to the individual needs of patients, as well as keep them updated about the latest cancer treatments. Currently, NCCN is working to translate these Clinical Guidelines into the more patient-friendly NCCN Patient Guidelines.

The Foundation Board of NCCN is the organization’s philanthropic arm, which advocates for support of the development of the NCCN Patient Guidelines and for advancing the mission of NCCN, usually through fundraising. Chaired by ABC News veteran and cancer survivor Sam Donaldson, the Foundation Board is made up of advocates from various organizations, including Dr. Deborah Morosini, MD and Jai Pausch, wife of the late Randy Pausch.

Russell Budd, the firm’s president and managing shareholder, is also a member of the NCCN Foundation Board and is the only attorney to be included in the prestigious organization’s roster.

In 2011, Baron and Budd sponsored the writing, printing and distribution of the NCCN Patient Guidelines for Mesothelioma, which offers the latest information on treatments for mesothelioma. Visit the firm’s dedicated mesothelioma website, Mesothelioma News, to download a copy of the patient guidelines.
