Nursing Home Abuse Caught on Camera: Video Allegedly Shows Mistreatment, Assault

July 28, 2015  |  Serious Accidents, Nursing Home Abuse

No matter your thoughts on cameras in nursing homes, there’s no denying that video evidence can help to reveal instances of abuse and bring the perpetrators to justice.

That may be the case in New Hope, Minnesota, where two nursing home employees are currently facing criminal charges after a video allegedly showing the abuse of a patient was handed over to the authorities.

It was just shocking to us and to the facility,” said New Hope Police Capt. Scott Slawson. Police said hidden camera footage from inside Saint Therese Senior Care Facility is disturbing. “Definitely mistreatment, probably assault were found on the video,” Slawson said.
