Norfolk considers emergency declaration for Chinese drywall victims

The City of Norfolk is considering asking Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell for an emergency declaration to provide aid to city residents with toxic Chinese drywall in their homes. Back in May, city council members banned the use of Chinese drywall in the city after problems associated with the drywall, including corrosion of household components and health complaints, came to light. An emergency declaration would make state relief funds available to help affected residents.
