Louisiana contractor settles False Claims Act suit

Pinkerton Government Services Inc. (PGS), a Louisiana contractor, has settled a False Claims Act lawsuit alleging that the company improperly billed the government in connection with health insurance costs. The government charged that PGS did not seek approval to bill for the health care expenses of its employees, in violation of the False Claims Act. The government contractor will pay a substantial amount as part of the settlement.

PGS, a subsidiary of Securitas Security Services USA Inc., provided security services to the Department of Energy at various sites. The company’s misconduct was revealed by two whistleblowers, each of whom will share in the government’s settlement of the lawsuit.
