Baron & Budd Investigating Detwiler Fire Near Yosemite National Park
Aggressive wildfire spans more than 70,000 acres and counting, cause unknown
DALLAS – July 21, 2017 – The national law firm of Baron & Budd announced today it is investigating the Detwiler fire in Mariposa County near Yosemite National Park that has grown to more than 70,000 acres since Wednesday, destroying at least 45 homes and forcing more than 4,000 residents in Mariposa and Coulterville to evacuate. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
“Events like this are truly devastating, and while residents of this particular area are more accustomed to wildfires, nothing can prepare you for the impact of such a rapid evacuation and both the physical and emotional distress associated with leaving one’s home under such unknown circumstances,” said Baron & Budd Attorney John Fiske. “Our firm is dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals who have lost property or the ability to use and enjoy their property, and are monitoring the situation closely as efforts are made to determine the cause of the fire.”
With the fire only 10 percent contained, current weather conditions are unfortunately expected to create favorable conditions for sustained growth as it continues moving eastward toward areas where trees have been killed off by bark beetles. More than 1,500 residences remained threatened.
Experienced Wildfire Attorneys John Fiske and Jason Julius, who have represented victims of California’s destructive 2015 Butte Wildfire against Pacific Gas & Electric, are investigating the cause of the fire.
