Chinese Drywall

In late 2011, the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee, negotiated a landmark settlement with KNAUF Plasterboard Tianjin (KPT), one of the largest manufacturers in the Chinese drywall litigation. The total value of the settlement is estimated to be between $800 million and $1 billion and will enable 4,500 homeowners suffering from issues related to defective drywall supplied by KPT to get help.

In 2010, the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Chinese Drywall Multi-District Litigation launched a pilot remediation program for homeowners with defective Chinese drywall.

Russell Budd negotiated with the WCI Trust on behalf of the WCI Trustees in litigation against their insurers with regards to coverage for Chinese Drywall claims.
