California Attorney General Files Suit Against Brazilian Blowout Due to Formaldehyde
Just yesterday, California Attorney General Jerry Brown filed a lawsuit against the North Hollywood company that makes Brazilian Blowout , alleging the company neglected to warn consumers that their product contains the chemical formaldehyde, even though the company claims their product is “formaldehyde-free.”
The news comes after the national law firm of Baron & Budd filed a class action lawsuit against the seller of Brazilian Blowout Solution just last week.
Hair stylists across the country offer the popular, though expensive, Brazilian Blowout technique in their salons and then sell the treatment and other accompanying products. Many stylists and their clientele have been led to believe the Brazilian Blowout treatment is safe and, as labeled on the bottle, “formaldehyde-free.”
Formaldehyde is a known human carcinogen that can cause serious allergic reactions, and irritate the eyes or nose and cause coughing or wheezing. The chemical has even been linked to cancer.
