Patient-Friendly Cancer Treatment Guidelines Also Available on Website Covering Several Other Forms of Cancer

November 21, 2014 DALLAS — The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®), a not-for-profit alliance of 25 of the world’s leading cancer centers devoted to patient care, recently announced that printed versions of the NCCN Guidelines for Patients® are now available through Amazon.com, the mesothelioma law firm of Baron and Budd reports. These patient-friendly resources, translations of the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®), are meant to help patients with cancer talk with their physicians about the best treatment options for their disease.(http://www.nccn.org/patients/foundation/newsdetail.aspx?NewsID=456)

One of the NCCN Guidelines for Patients® available on Amazon.com includes the NCCN Guidelines for Patients®: Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma. The NCCN Guidelines for Patients®: Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma is presented with support from Baron and Budd.

The NCCN Guidelines for Patients are designed to provide people with cancer and their caregivers state-of-the-art treatment information in easy-to-understand language. The NCCN Guidelines® are developed by multidisciplinary panels of experts from the NCCN Member Institutions and feature algorithms that address appropriate management options from initial work-up throughout the course of the disease. NCCN Guidelines for Patients do not replace the expertise and clinical judgment of the physician. “This is an extremely significant step on the part of NCCN because it will further empower cancer patients so they can be as well educated as possible regarding the strategies that will be used to fight their disease,” said Russell Budd, co-founder and shareholder of the mesothelioma law firm of Baron and Budd. “We are honored to support the continued efforts of the NCCN to help improve the quality of these patients’ lives.” Budd is a past member of the NCCN Foundation Board, the philanthropic arm of the organization.

Digital versions of the library of NCCN Guidelines for Patients are available for download for free on NCCN.org/patients. NCCN currently offers digital patient resources for Breast, Colon, Esophageal, Non-Small Cell Lung, Ovarian, Pancreatic, and Prostate Cancers; Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia; Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma; Melanoma; Multiple Myeloma; and Soft Tissue Sarcoma; as well as Caring for Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) and Lung Cancer Screening. For nearly four decades, the mesothelioma lawyers with Baron and Budd have fought for malignant pleural mesothelioma patients by targeting the manufacturers responsible for the asbestos exposure that caused their disease. If you or a loved one has been harmed due to such exposure and would like more information on potential legal options, call our mesothelioma law firm at 855-280-7664 or e-mail info@baronandbudd.com.
