Baron & Budd, P.C. | Protecting What's Right

Giving Back

Baron and Budd is proud to have a legacy of giving back to the community. Whether it’s helping in the fight against cancer, aiding in the global battle against asbestos, or working to preserve our civil liberties, Baron and Budd remains at the forefront of important issues that impact Americans every day. We know that supporting these non-profit organizations, we can help make a difference outside of the courtroom.

National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)

Russell Budd, the firm’s president and managing shareholder, serves on the Foundation Board of NCCN. Budd is the only attorney who has been invited to serve on the board, which is the philanthropic arm of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a non-profit alliance of 21 of the world’s leading cancer treatment centers dedicated to providing the highest quality cancer care to patients.

Working closely with NCCN, Baron and Budd sponsored the writing, printing and distribution of the NCCN Patient Guidelines for Mesothelioma, a step-by-step patient guide to understanding mesothelioma, exploring effective treatment programs, and communicating effectively with your doctor. You can download the guidelines from Baron and Budd’s dedicated mesothelioma website, Mesothelioma News. For a free physical copy, contact us here or at 1.866.844.4556.

International Mesothelioma Program (IMP)

Baron and Budd is honored to support researchers and other mesothelioma advocates. The firm was a cornerstone donor and Executive Advisory Board member of the International Mesothelioma Program (IMP) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Founded by Dr. David Sugarbaker, the program is a collaboration between Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to research cutting-edge treatments for mesothelioma patients.

Understanding Mesothelioma

CURE media group, the publishers of CURE magazine, is dedicated to providing understandable cancer information to patients and caregivers as they navigate their cancer journey. Understanding Mesothelioma is the first in a series of books that explore specific types of cancers. Because mesothelioma is rare, it can be difficult for patients and families to find the right medical information to face the cancer head-on.

Understanding Mesothelioma offers accessible information for patients and caregivers about mesothelioma treatment options, diagnosis, legal issues, finding a specialist and includes caregiver stories. The distribution of Understanding Mesothelioma is made possible by the generous donation of Baron and Budd.

Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO)

Founded by mesothelioma widow Linda Reinstein and Doug Larkin, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) is an independent non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising global awareness about the dangers of asbestos, providing education and support for asbestos victims and families, and advocacy. Baron and Budd is a proud sponsor of ADAO’s efforts.

Public Justice Foundation

The goal of Public Justice is to protect America’s people and environment, to hold large corporations accountable for wrongdoing, and, most importantly, to keep the courtroom doors open to all Americans and allow them the opportunity to seek justice for any harms they may have suffered. Baron and Budd is a proud member of this wonderful advocacy organization.

In 2006, Baron and Budd attorneys were honored with Public Justice’s “Trial Lawyer of the Year” award for their work on a groundwater contamination case in Tucson, Arizona. The award recognizes the trial attorney or attorneys who have made the most significant contribution to the public interest by successfully resolving a precedent-setting case or group of related cases.
